Gotham Records was a Philly-based label which formed just after World War Two and stayed in business until the advent of the rock and roll era. It had a varied catalog, including gospel, R&B, Country, Pop, Rock ’n’ Roll and Jazz artists, but in its final couple of years in business it became one of the leading proponents of Philadelphia doo-wop. These collections are now hard to find.
