This 10th Awek CD is made of originals as were their previous albums, but this time, the quartet also adds a few standards from the Blues songbook, with this "je ne sais quoi" that makes these covers sound their own. Recorded in 3 different studios, the result is a much varied album with, as a common guideline, that unique sound that belongs to the band from Toulouse. It was Nicolas Jobet, a master at his craft, who mixed, mastered and gave the different sessions their unity. Fred Kaplan and Derek O'Brien can be found on a couple of tracks recorded in Austin, TX, Drew Davies and Jean Marc Labbé on tenor and bariton saxes on "She Moves Me" (Guitar Watson), Julien Brunetaud or Damien 'Magic Dee' Daigneau on piano, and Kathy Boyer gives a hand on vocal for "Think" (Jimmy Mc Cracklin). Long Distance is without a doubt Awek's most produced album.
