OTIS REDDING FIRST SINGLE

Otis Redding n’est plus à présenter aux amateurs de Soul/R&B, et même à d’autres publics d’ailleurs, mais je vais tout de même dresser l'histoire de ses premières années. Otis Redding est né à Dawson, en Géorgie, il est le quatrième des six enfants, et le premier fils, d'Otis Redding, SR, et de Fannie Mae Redding. Redding Senior était métayer, puis a travaillé à Robins Air Force base, près de Macon, et allait parfois prêcher dans les églises locales. Quand Otis avait trois ans, la famille déménage à Tindall Heights, un projet de logement public principalement afro-américain à Macon. Jeune, Otis chante dans les chœurs de l'église Vineville Baptist Church a Macon, et apprend la guitare et le piano. Dès l'âge de 10 ans, il prit des leçons de batterie et de chant. À l'école secondaire Ballard-Hudson, il a chanté dans le groupe de l'école. Chaque dimanche, il gagnait $6 en chantant des chansons Gospel pour la station de radio de Macon WIBB. Ses influences musicales étaient Little Richard et Sam Cooke, chantant d’ailleurs souvent à la manière Rock‘n’Roll de Richard. À 15 ans, Otis quitta l'école pour aider financièrement sa famille, son père avait contracté la tuberculose et était souvent hospitalisé. Il a travaillé comme creuseur de puits, pompiste et occasionnellement comme musicien. Le pianiste Gladys Williams, un musicien local bien connu à Macon et un autre qui a inspiré Redding, jouaient souvent au Hillview Springs Social Club, et Redding a parfois joué du piano avec son groupe là-bas. Williams accueillait le "Sunday talent shows" dont Redding a assisté avec deux amis, les chanteurs Little Willie Jones et Eddie Ross. La percée de Redding se fait en 1958 grâce au Disc Jockey Hamp Swain et au "The Teen Party", un concours de talents se déroulant aux théâtres locaux ROXY et Douglass.

Johnny Jenkins, un guitariste de renom local, était dans le public et, trouvant que le groupe d'accompagnement de Redding manquait de compétences musicales, lui propose de l'accompagner. Redding a chanté "Heebie Jeebies" de Little Richard. La combinaison a permis à Redding de remporter le concours de talent de Swain pendant quinze semaines consécutives ; le prix en argent était de $5. Jenkins a ensuite travaillé comme guitariste principal et a joué avec Redding lors de plusieurs concerts ultérieurs dans Johnny Jenkins & The Pinetoppers. Redding fut bientôt invité à remplacer Willie Jones en tant que chanteur principal de Pat T. Cake et The Mighty Panthers, avec Johnny Jenkins. Otis est alors embauché par The Upseters quand Little Richard abandonne le Rock and Roll en faveur de la musique gospel. Otis était bien payé, environ $25 par prestation, mais ne reste pas longtemps. Avec eux. À 18 ans, Otis rencontra Zelma Atwood, âgé de 15 ans. Elle donne naissance à leur fils Dexter à l'été de 1960, et épouse Redding en août 1961. Au milieu des années 1960, Otis déménage à Los Angeles avec sa sœur, Deborah, tandis que les enfants de Zelma et d'Otis restent à Macon, en Géorgie. À Los Angeles, Redding écrivit ses premières chansons, dont "She's All Right", "Tuff Enuff", "I'm Gettin' Hip" et "Gamma Lamma" qu'il enregistrera en 1962, sous le titre "Shout Bamalama". Je propose aujourd’hui son tout premier enregistrement "She’s All Right/Tuff Enuff", single édité en octobre 1960 sur Trans World Records (Los Angeles) T-6908. Crédité a The Shooters featuring Otis pour "She’s All Right" et The Shooters featuring Jackie pour "Tuff Enuff". Ces deux titres seront réédités en 1966 sur Finer Arts FA-2016 sous son propre nom "Otis Redding and the shooters" pour "She’s All Right" et "The Shooters" pour "Tuff Enuff" label blanc, puis label bleu sous Otis Redding en face A et Otis & The Shooters en face B.

Starring:


Storyline
A young girl who lives on a tropical island loses her parents to a voodoo sacrifice, but although she manages to escape the island, a curse is put on her. Years later, as an adult, she feels a strong compulsion to return to the island to confront her past. Her husband, her daughter and her nanny go with her, but once back on the island, the woman finds herself elevated by the locals to the stature of a voodoo goddess, and she begins her inevitable descent into madness, with disastrous results for her family.

Rose Betty Klub - французский квинтет, образованный в 2011-году в Монпелье (Montpellier).
Название группы именно через 'K' пишется, во-первых, для прикола, а во-вторых, как дань уважения театральному коллективу под названием 'Klub Klamauk', взрастившему их фронтвумен по прозвищу 'Rose Betty'. В действительности эту артистичную барышню зовут Мари Ноcмас (Marie Nosmas).
Компанию певице составляют: Ана Бальдек (Ana Baldeck aka 'Thelma Brooks') - фортепиано, Найма Жиру (Naïma Girou aka 'Brigitte Parker') - контрабас, Джон Да Коста Феррейра (Jon Da Costa Ferreira aka 'Johnny Mustang') - гитара и барабанщик Карл Мусавоу (Karl Moussavou aka 'Kenny Wild').
Дебютный лонгплей группы под названием "Good" вышел в марте 2015 года.
"Bleu" второй альбом в их дискографии. Диск издан вне лейбла. Дата релиза пятое октября.
